Job Description

Co-ordinate the indirect post adoption contact service, ensuring that all recording is accurate and up to date.

Provide support to birth parents to enable them to participate in indirect contact, being mindful of any communication difficulties or issues they may have.

Provide support to adoptive parents, including telephone counselling.

Co-ordinate direct contact arrangements between adopted children and their birth families, offering supervision where necessary.

Provide consultation and advice to social work colleagues who are setting up post adoption contact arrangements.

Arrange independent support for birth parents where adoption is the plan for the child.

Candidates are required to hold a clear enhanced CRB, references covering the last 5 years and a full CV covering and explaining any gaps in your employment history and also having the reasons for leaving previous posts.

Candidates need to be registered with the General Social Care Council.
