Job Description

We currently require Senior Engineers who have experience with highways related structures design and assessments. Our project relates to the ongoing maintenance and upgrade of the UK’s motorway and major trunk routes and motorways around the East Midlands.

You will be responsible for:
• Taking the technical lead on design issues and requirements relating to highway structures
• Preparation of monthly progress reports, design estimates, and programmes
• Undertake feasibility studies relating to structural upgrades, maintenance and strengthening
• Liaise closely with the highways agency (HA) and local authorities where necessary
• Liaise with stakeholders / investors / contractors and other relevant bodies to ensure buildability and that proposals are achievable within the scheme
• Assist, mentor and coach junior designers where appropriate
• Ensure all detailed design is compliant with British Standards and the Highways Agency Design Manual for Roads and Bridges

Candidate requirements :
• Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Chartered status or working towards this
• Relevant experience of Highways and structures related design, in particular maintenance and upgrade
