Job Description

We currently require Design Engineers who have experience with highways related structures design and assessments. Our project relates to the ongoing maintenance and upgrade of the UK’s motorway and major trunk routes and motorways around the East Midlands.

You will be responsible for:
• To assist in the design of highway projects for construction in accordance with the company’s procedures.
• Reports to: Senior Engineer - Roads Renewal Team/LNMS Team
• To assist as required with the identification of highway projects and preparation and delivery of feasibility design or traffic studies in accordance with the company’s procedures.
• Preparation and delivery of outline and detailed designs of highway projects to time and budget in accordance with the company’s procedures.
• To assist with outsourcing design work as required to outside consultants and to effectively liaise with the consultant(s) as required to ensure delivery to time and budget.
• To assist with progress meetings as required and to produce monthly progress reports for issue to the Highways Agency.
• To assist in producing project briefs, design estimates and programmes and to monitor and report on progress including monthly spends against approved budgets
• To liaise with other departments and managers within the company’s to ensure successful delivery of projects

Candidate requirements :
• Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
• Relevant experience of Highways and structures related design, in particular maintenance and upgrade
