Job Description

We urgently require an Works manager on a major Highways maintenance and upgrade schemes in the North West .

The position will report in to the Assistant Network Managerwith the purpose of managing the provision and delivery of Damage to Crown Property and Providers Works to programme (including traffic management, vehicle restraint systems, structures and electrical works) across the network.

You will be required to contribute to safe, effective and reliable network operation and achievement of Highways Agency’s strategic aims and objectives and to contribute to safe working practices, excellent client service and sustainable financial return..

The ideal candidate will possess the following Qualifications and experience.

• Degree, HND or HNC or similar in a construction or civil engineering discipline.
• Full Driving licence
• Appropriate CSCS accreditation for level of post (desirable)
• Industry recognised or company safety training standard for level of post (desirable)


• Management of safe systems of work
• Highway maintenance (including VRS, structures and electrical) experience.
• Works supervision experience, including planning and programming.
• Basic IT competency and familiarity with Highstone software, basic programming packages and Microsoft word office suite of software.
