Purpose:
Based in the commercial team the Estimator will work under the guidance of the target cost manager and will be responsible for estimating cost associated with the mains replacement programme. This programme covers approximately 420km of replacement per year at a cost of c£60m.
The role will involve collaborative working with operations and design teams to improve the accuracy of estimates through utilising information from surveys, experience and local knowledge.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for low and medium pressure mains replacement and associated work
• Preparation of estimates for project changes including potential compensation events
• Close liaison with designers and operations team
• Estimating costs on different design options
• Presentation of target cost to client

Experience Required:
• Degree in Engineering or another relevant discipline
• Preferably Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer with a relevant institution
• Previous experience in a similar capacity within a Utilities contract
• Preferred experience of working on a multi million pound utilities project (gas, water, electric)
• Good organisational skills, good record keeping together with the ability to prioritise work
• Experience in using Conquest or a similar estimating system
• Experienced with standard methods of measurement
• Hold a full, clean UK driving license

Salary and benefits:
• Basic salary between £40,000 to £50,000
