We are currently looking for a Family Support Worker to work within Youth Services. The vacancy is based in West London.

Main Responsibilites:

To take part in partnership arrangements for the early identification of parents who would benefit from an intervention.

To undertake assessments to identify needs and risk factors for parents and families through the Common Assessment Framework and/or other relevant assessment tools.

To deliver and co-ordinate parenting programmes and individual interventions designed to address the risk and needs of parents in meeting the emotional and behavioural needs of their children and in managing their children’s behaviour and development.

To provide support to parents in managing challenging behaviour including anti-social behaviour, gang related activity or where family mediation or prevention of homelessness is needed.

Candidate will need to provide a social work service to members of the local community which include an appropriate range of statutory duties to the more vulnerable service users or those children with complex needs.

The post holder main duty will be to accept responsibility for completing assessments and use a range of intervention to identify and if necessary protect and safeguard children who may be vulnerable or at risk of harm.

Candidates are required to hold a clear enhanced CRB, references covering the last 5 years and a full CV covering and explaining any gaps in your employment history and also having the reasons for leaving previous posts.

Candidates need to be registered with the General Social Care Council.
