Job Description

The position will be initially for 3 months, but is likely to be extended due to the urgent requirement.

Duties may include:

1. Supervise & manage social work staff within a performance management framework
2. Ensure the prompt allocation of work and cases
3. Advise the Team Manager of any issues in regard to the performance management of individual staff, and, with any case allocation issues.
4. Completion of any relevant reports to required quality standard and within timescale
5. Ensure all work undertaken is in line with, and as required by, the relevant legislation, guidance or procedures
6. Ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping (including electronic databases/client records)
7. Promote good quality practise within the team.
8. Maintain and promote partnership working with other agencies
9. Facilitate the participation of parents, children & young people
10. Provide cover for the Team Manager, when required
11. To work within any allocated budgets
12. To uphold and comply with the statutory provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other associated legislation or Council Polices and procedures.
13. To understand and comply with the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
14. The above mentioned duties are neither exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out other duties as required by the service.
