To be successful, you will need a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, coupled with a Degree in Social Work and be eligible for registration with The General Social Care Council (GSCC) in England.
Just 14 miles to the west of Central London and bounded by the home counties of Bucks, Herts and Surrey and the London Boroughs of Hounslow, Ealing and Harrow, Hillingdon’s population is around a quarter of a million people, with a fifth of the borough’s residents coming from ethnic minority groups. Our headquarters are at the Civic Centre in the High Street at Uxbridge.
The second largest of the London’s boroughs, Hillingdon includes countryside villages as well as more urbanised areas. The housing stock ranges from older properties to modern developments, while Council housing includes sheltered flats and bungalows for the elderly, with social housing increasingly provided by housing associations.
Hillingdon offers excellent educational facilities from pre-school upwards, with further and higher education available at Uxbridge College and at Brunel University – currently holding the best UK graduate recruitment record. Culturally, the arts are well-represented including theatres in Hayes and Ickenham. There are also no less than six sports centres and four 18-hole golf courses, including one of championship standard, while the lakes, woodland and nature reserves as well as a new country park ensure there is no shortage of greenery and open spaces.
Extremely well-connected, Hillingdon is at the hub of motorway connections for the M4 and M40, with M25, M1 and M3 within easy reach. Uxbridge itself is on both Metropolitan and Piccadilly underground lines giving direct links through to the West End and beyond, while the borough is also highly convenient for Heathrow airport.

A 36 hour week for all full-time staff.
