Job Description

You will be required to:

Offer intensive assistance to families to alleviate pressure by implementing a range of interventions. Developing a network of support for parents in the local community. Working in partnership with other agencies to develop individual support/group packages for families. Contributing to the Project’s ongoing development.

Job activities include:

Offering intensive assistance to families to alleviate pressure by implementing a range of interventions. To work with parents and carers to develop parenting skills particularly in the areas of child development, communication and relationships, behaviour management and child safety. To provide families with practical and emotional support to enable them to develop their strengths and work their way out of crisis. To work with families on an outreach basis within their homes and within the Project base. To develop a network of support for parents in the local community. To audit need and respond to this by the development of group work programmes. To deliver, review and evaluate the groups that are run by the Project.
To facilitate parents and carers involvement in group work programmes. Working in partnership with other agencies to develop individual support packages and group work programmes for families. To develop and maintain effective relationships with local community, social work and other lead agencies. To review and evaluate practice in order to inform the development of services locally.
