This is a diverse and forward thinking local authority that is based in a picturesque borough in North London, they are looking for an Assistant Engineer to work as part of their friendly and busy team.

The role is for an Assistant Engineer working on a varied range of small projects on footways, highways and resurfacing and may also involve some traffic projects. This multi-disciplined role will include on site supervision, dealing with CDM regulations, signs and road markings, traffic and CPZ schemes. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a range of experience and work in an interesting and varied environment and for the right person it could be a long term opportunity with the chance to develop their skills.

Suitable applicants will need to be able to work as part of the team and have the ability to supervise contractors, knowledge of how a footpath is made up and the materials that are used would be an advantage as would an understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act. You must be IT literate and be confident in the use of Excel, the ability to use CAD is desirable. Some experience or understanding of civil works is essential.
