Based in Buckinghamshire, this forward thinking council is seeking a surveyor / technical officer to inspect domestic properties in the area.

The successful applicant will be required to carry out inspections, risk assessments and improvements to social housing. Duties will also include providing technical, enforcement and advisory services regarding the improvements of houses in ‘multiple occupation’.

The surveyor will need to be able to keep accurate records of site vists and to write reports to a high standard.

There will also be an aspect of public liaison within this role whilst out on site and also when dealing with requests and enquiries.

Our client is seeking a confident and enthusiastic surveyor / technical officer who has superb communication skills both written and verbal and who enjoys working with members of the public on a face to face level.

Applicants must have previous experience with inspection of housing properties, and ideally will have worked in a public sector environment either with a housing association or local authority.

Self motivation will be an essential requirement for this role as the surveyor will need to manage his/her own workload efficiently on a day to day basis.

Preferred applicants will have a good understanding of relevant legislation.

IT literacy is an essential requirement for this role – applicants must be familiar with the MS Office suite and be able to use spreadsheets confidently (preferably Excel).
