Job Description
A Local Authority in North West London seeks a Policy officer to play a co-ordinating role in the development of the councils annual Corporate and service planning process. The team you will be involved with is responsible for the following areas:
·Developing and maintaining networks within the Borough and externally to ensure that the council is well informed of impending policy developments, as well as contributing to the development of national policy.
·Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis as a basis for strategy development
·Producing and publishing a Policy Digest
·Supporting the Local Strategic Partnership by providing strategic direction and policy support
·Providing guidance and support in corporate and service planning.
·Leading the development, implementation and monitoring of the Corporate Plan and other corporate strategies
·Leading the development, implementation and monitoring of the Local Strategic Partnership’s Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement.
·Leading the development, implementation and monitoring of the council’s Community Engagement strategy
·Conducting qualitative and quantitative consultation with the Harrow community
·Implementing the Equalities Plan and Race Equality Scheme. The Client is looking for someone with a background in Business and the role will involve concentrating on the following areas: To contribute to policy and system development so that services are developed in line with Council priorities and customer need. To advise on complex national policy initiatives and their application to the Council.To help raise policy intelligence amongst the organisation so that it becomes embedded in service development and delivery.To develop and maintain networks with the wider policy community, actively participating in policy forums and promoting the profile of the Council.To provide guidance and support to the Councils Strategic Partnership. To co-ordinate and undertake qualitative and quantitative consultation processes with the community. This is an urgent contract that the Client is interviewing for now, it is for 7 months and the rate is up to £19.00p/hr.
