This role is based within a borough that is rich in history and presents a vibrant mix of old and new along with a bustling community unique in culture and character.

Our client is looking for an experienced highways maintenance engineer to work on their measured term contracts for various highways maintenance schemes. You will be required to carry out pre and post inspections of works, supervise contractors, raise works orders, deal with contract administration, road closure notices and scaffold and skip notices. The highways schemes will include reconstruction of footways and carriage ways, major resurfacing and drainage schemes.

Suitable applicants will to be qualified to HNC level or upwards and have at least 3 years experience within civil engineering with a sound knowledge of road reconstruction and maintenance. You will also need and understanding of traffic management chapter 8 and the New Roads and Street Works Act. This role requires someone who can work independently and competently as well as be part of the team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a 1 year fixed term contract with a vibrant London borough and within a good team environment, dealing with a varied work load.
