Job Description

Lead the council’s transport planning negotiations with Crossrail, which is at Hybrid Bill Stage. The council’s main concerns include the traffic impacts of worksites, construction impact, parking impact, station capacity, and coordination with Thameslink 2000 etc; Co-ordinate the council’s negotiations (working with colleagues in planning, highways and environmental health) and discussions with Crossrail including producing briefs to senior managers and members, liasing with neighbouring boroughs; Organising monthly negotiating meetings with Crossrail and proactively protecting the council’s position; Seeking mitigation measures and sustainable solutions to minimise the construction disruption of the project on residents and business; Liasing with council’s Parliamentary Agents and legal counsel as appropriate in advance of Select Committee Hearings.
