12 month fixed term contract

Our client is a leading financial services company based in Edinburgh. If you’re an articulate and highly motivated finance professional who brings a real desire to work directly with your stakeholders, this role represents an excellent and rare opportunity to have involvement in a number of prominent new projects across the business.

Responsibilities:
• Working closely with the Financial Control Manager, you’ll be instrumental in a key business function and have direct involvement with one of the business's primary products.
• You'll support the strategy and operating model for financial control, with the aim of establishing and maintaining trust and confidence of the key customers and stakeholders.
• You’ll make a tangible difference through your involvement in a number of high profile projects, one project for example being to implement a new ledger across the business
• Through building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships across the business, you’ll help to deliver an accurate profit and loss account to our key stakeholders.
• You’ll help to keep control of business issues and financial system complexities, by supporting the function with their delivery.

About You:
• Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Experienced in banking or financial services
• Strong financial control background.
• Audit background would be advantageous
• Solid interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing. You will be proactive and organised, with the ability to influence and challenge where necessary.
• Your problem solving skills will be first class, and you'll thrive in a rapidly changing environment, where you'll support and guide a team with confidence in working to tight deadlines.
• Experience in project management or delivering a new ledger may be advantageous
