Job Description

The hotel has 342-bedrooms and 82-apartments and you will be part of a 10 strong team of Engineers, Electricians, Painters and a very knowledgeable Chief Engineer.

The position involves the:

Ongoing preventative maintenance programmes.
Overseeing all water testing and dosing.
Overseeing the obtaining of quotes from suppliers, the raising of purchase and job orders, and the processing of invoices, whilst ensuring that Maintenance budgets are adhered to.
Future project management.
Ensuring that all Maintenance operations and work practices comply fully with the Company’s Health and Safety policies, reporting any concerns to the Resident Manager and/or Security Manager.
The ideal person will have:

A relevant degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
At least five years’ previous experience as a chief engineer or equivalent position in a large four- or five-star hotel or hotels.
A thorough knowledge of fire and life safety, health and safety, and building and local authority regulations.
Excellent leadership skills and a ‘hands-on’ approach when required.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure.
The ability to grasp concepts and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
The ability to interact and negotiate in an effective yet appropriate manner with associates, key liaisons, third parties and senior management.
