Roads & Highways experience required for this position. Covering a new 3 year Term Maintenance Contract you must be fully conversant with the current rules and regulations governing Road and Highway construction, with first hand knowledge of the processes involved and the sequence of construction that is entailed. This is initially a contract position but may evolve into a permanent role.

The Company was formed over 40 years ago to compete for civil engineering contracts. It is a medium sized company operating regionally in London and the South-East. Being a regional company it values its clients. Many of the staff are long term employees of the company and offer a wealth of experience as well as commitment to the company, its reputation and its future. In the early years its client base was local authorities, county councils, the Department of Transport and New Towns. Areas covered were London and the Home Counties north of the Thames. Projects included road improvement schemes, new roads, bridges over rivers and railways, village bypass schemes, main drainage schemes, subways and tunnels. The company also carried out term maintenance contracts for a number of local authorities in the London area.
In more recent years the company's client base has both changed and grown. The company has been heavily involved in the regeneration of the docklands area in East London.

Former clients include London Docklands Development Corporation completing both road and main drainage contracts. The company has also moved more into the private sector, working on public infrastructure schemes, financed and constructed by developers. The demands of society have changed the balance of the types of construction carried out by the company in recent years. Town centre improvements, traffic calming, pedestrianisation schemes, Red Route construction and bus lane improvements now form a substantial part of their workload.

Formally qualified in the Civil Engineering field to Degree or Diploma level, you will also have CSCS and NRSWA qualifications, be able to read and interpret drawings, be able to clearly and accurately communicate this information to the men on the ground, be at ease in client and contractors meetings with good programming and commercial skills.
