One of the leading partners in the regeneration of London’s Underground requires Electrical Designers, HNC minimum, Chartered preferred, to help ensure delivery of a number of major projects.

Role and Responsibilities:
To ensure that the planning, specification, control and execution of multi-disciplinary projects are achieved to agreed targets of quality, safety, cost and time.
Responsible for a team of up to twelve engineers. Specifying, monitoring and controlling the scope, quality and timely delivery of out-sourced engineering carried out by external consultants.
Purpose of Job
Responsible for ensuring the cost effective and timely delivery of technical input for all engineering work
To ensure that the technical aspects of design work comply with applicable legislation and all relevant standards.
To liaise with interested parties about design issues.
Responsible for co-ordinating the technical aspects of design and system interfaces.
Developing a Design Management Plan
Manage the performance and competence of the design team.
Ensure effective communication between all members of the design team.
Leading and documenting regular Design Reviews throughout all phases of design.
Leading the development and co-ordination of Design Risk Assessments
Managing the design change control process.

Required Skills and Experience:
Ten years experience as a Senior Designer
Demonstrable competence in a relevant electrical engineering discipline
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Education to a minimum of degree level or sustainable equivalent demonstrable experience.

Membership of a recognised engineering institution desirable.
Ability to satisfy the requirements for Chartered Engineer desirable.
Experience of related construction work advantageous
Computer literacy essential
