Job Description

A successful Project Manager with experience within the Rail sector or similar? Sound like you then you could be the individual our client is seeking to augment its team on a number of key projects on the rail network. Educated to HNC/HND or similar standard, with good interpersonal and communication skills, some knowledge of safety regulations and Six Sigma Yellow Belt you will manage a variety of projects through various stages of their life cycle as well as supporting and assisting the Project Manager in delivering the overall project portfolio managed by the team. Key accountabilities will include responsibility for the delivery of individual projects or parts of projects to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), applicable Network Rail company standards, current legislation and procedures including HMRI guidance where appropriate, provision of a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service including use of performance indicators and project reporting systems in accordance with Railway Group and Network Rail’s company standards and guidelines, delivery of part or all of small/medium projects in providing safety, design and construction, procurement, cost control, testing and commissioning of the managed portfolio, provision of details for the possession plan and authority submission for allocated schemes, management of change and risks within the project life cycle for allocated schemes, assistance or leadership in the provision of a safe working environment in the execution of managed work and acting as Planning Supervisor as directed. Should you possess (or be working towards) Membership of the Association for Project Management or other professional body, a degree or equivalent, have knowledge of quality and environmental procedures, appreciation of commercial and financial procedures and appreciation of contractual arrangements, then your application would be enhanced.
