Job Description

Working on a new commercial project our client is seeking a stand alone Quantity Surveyor for ground preparation, earthworks, drainage and general infrastructure initially and then to follow on to the RC and permanent works that are due to commence soon.

The work will involve some of the above operations but will initially focus on pilecaps, groundbeams, stanchion bases, HD bolts and floor slabs. Eventually progressing on to RC frame, external soft and hard landscaping works. You will have a minimum of 5 years field experience ideally working for subcontractors or else come from a main contractor background with a strong “hands on approach�.

We need a Quantity Surveyor who is conversant with modern and traditional construction methods who has a sound commercial appreciation and can run the commercial elements of this £1.8m scheme.

You will be ably assisted by a competent Engineer who will be able to keep site diaries, recording daily activities and occurrences, raise RFI’s as relevant and working with the visiting Project Manager, who is Engineer trained, to ensure safe working practices are adhered to and generally aim for a successful project with a good commercial outcome.

This is potentially a very long run of freelance work as the site opens up. All applicants must have a current CSCS card and be legally entitled to live and work in the UK. The site is located close to public transport services. Only candidates legally permitted to live and work in the UK will be considered.
