Working as a design engineer within the water utilities team of a major engineering firm, you will be principally involved in civil wastewater design for sewerage systems in the UK as part of the AMP delivery programme.

As a Wastewater Engineer, the main duties of this role will include:

• Contribution to management and design of waste water schemes - in particular sewers/CSOs, etc, located principally in the UK.
  
• The ability to work well in a team environment and be able to interact positively with senior and junior staff alike.
  
• Working within the client environment – you must be comfortable as an ambassador of the client.
  
• Tackling aspects of project and programme management and you must be aware of and understand the commercial and financial consequences.
  
• Optioning and preparation of designs for DG5 and other sewerage problems.
  
• Liaison with client operations, client customer care staff as well as the general public so a positive and presentable attitude to the work is very important.
  
• Supervision of the work of more junior engineers and provide technical and professional guidance to assist their development.
