This Drainage Engineer job would suit a Civil/Environmental engineer with over 2 years experience in an Engineering Consultancy environment. Your experience may include drainage design and modeling (Hydroworks/Microdrainage or similar), flood risk assessments, developing drainage strategies, advice on sustainability issues, hydrological analysis. My Client is willing to consider applications from candidates with a bias either towards drainage engineering, or to flood risk and river engineering.

The Drainage Engineer job will involve detailed design and project management of a number of high-profile projects. You will be supporting development applications through the planning process to ensure approval. Close liaison will be required with all parties involved in the planning process including local government, developers, the Environment Agency etc so you should be confident dealing with other people and have strong communication skills.

Based in Surrey (short train ride out of London), you will be working with a specialist team, and will be supported by a team of experienced technical staff. You will be involved in strategy development for drainage projects so an ability to see the bigger picture - not just the nitty gritty - is essential. Some previous involvement with development applications, or the development process would be an advantage.

Your workload will be varied and interesting and requires someone with a 'can-do' attitude and a desire to succeed in their chosen field.
