Job Description
A north London Borough needs a Town Planner for their busy property department.
You will provide specialist planning advice on property aspects of service provision across the authority:
Prepare and advise on planning applications and development briefs on behalf of the Council relating to the development of operational property for disposal and where necessary, negotiate such schemes with the Environmental Services Planning Team.
To analyse the Council's UDP and any other policy documentation that have implications for property in the borough with particular emphasis on Council owned property.
Provide advice on demographic, economic and planning statistics in relation to the formulation of strategic property policies for Service Groups.
Monitor and provide advice to the Assistant Director of Resources (Property) upon local and national policies and guidelines, which may have an effect on the Councils' portfolio and on property in other ownerships where the Council's overall property objectives could be prejudiced or affected.
Co-ordinate a response by Finance & Corporate Resources Department (on behalf of the Council) on planning consultations where the Council is the adjoining or affected landowner.
The ideal candidate will be a degree qualified planner and have at least 2 years Town Planning experience preferably in the UK.
