This is a new role, working for an established build and civils contractor, who is seeking to expand their presence in the Rail & LUL Sector by the provision of quality operatives to cover positions throughout the Rail & LUL spread, overlapping into the Airports where the works are suitable. The company currently turns over £ 0.5m undertaking this work and intends to grow this sector.

The Company has been working in the London region for many years and has developed from a family based operation supplying labour to the main contractors to a major sub contractor, running projects in the £18m - £35m as a contractor in its own right. The company has a strong input in both build and civils markets and wishes to utilise this background and the skills base available to operate in the Rail & LUL areas. The parent company is extremely financially sound.

The Role will suit someone with an Engineering background who is ideally SPIC and Track Accustomed, preferably with good contacts in the Rail and LUL companies and can operate independently. You would carry out most of the work at night or weekends when there is better access to Rail sites, liaising closely with the office thus generating long hours and substantial overtime opportunities.

The Work entails intrusive survey work on LUL and Rail stations and sites. This would mean carrying out exploratory work to ascertain what operations are required to upgrade / enhance / repair various services and facilities in the working areas. Photographs would be taken and reports written detailing what you find, these would then be submitted either to the Quantity Surveyor for pricing or the client for a cost based decision as to procedures to be undertaken.
The role will require some client facing skills, the ability to work alone and unsupervised with 6 operatives under your direct control.
