Job Description

My Client is currently seeking to appoint a Hydraulic Engineer/Hydrologist to join their broad-based team in Cambridgeshire.

The team covers all aspects of hydrology and hydraulic engineering including river engineering, flood risk assessment, flood protection, coastal engineering and dam engineering. The team's capabilities cover both public and private sector projects in the UK and overseas - recent exciting international assignments have included investigative trips to the Middle East, Africa and the Far East.

The team is looking to appoint a consultant at Engineer or Senior Engineer level. You will have a degree in civil engineering or another relevant subject and some previous industry experience, some of which will have been with another consultancy. Previous experience working on the UK Environment Agency framework would be beneficial, but your project base will not be confined to this sector.

Project opportunities are varied and challenging. You will be encouraged to work towards achieving Chartered status if you have not done so already, and will work closely with your management team to ensure you can reach your desired potential.

My Client's Water and Environment Group has grown from strength to strength as they continue to build on their in-house expertise, and deliver high-quality solutions to their Customers. Responding to the changing environment both in the UK and the overseas, the team has developed skills which encompass the full water cycle and beyond. They deliver projects to both the public and private sector and recent achievements for the Group include a stormwater management programme in Malaysia - diverting flood water away from a major urban settlement, Water Resource Demand Management in water-scarce areas, flood analysis and prevention measures in the UK, and advisory services to public private partnerships throughout Europe.

The company is wholly owned by their staff so it encourages employees to go that extra mile to ensure consistent service to their Customers. They have a well-established and respected reputation across the globe which adds up to a wealth of opportunity for people with ingenuity, flair, enthusiasm and commitment - all vital ingredients for your success and theirs.

Based on the outskirts of London, the choice is yours whether you choose the City life, or Country Living! The offices are in a great location – a stones throw from the train station which is on a major commuting line out of London. Alternatively, the area offers a great quality of life, and cheaper accommodation, and the City is still close enough for shopping, nights out and visiting friends!
