Job Description

A Hertfordshire council urgently requires a Town Planner to be responsible to the Area Team Leader for all aspects of development control within one half of the Borough. The postholder will be required to deal with a wide range of planning applications and appeals including presentations at Planning Sub-Committees and representing the authority at hearings and inquiries.

Processing and formulating recommendations on applications for planning permission and other types of applications submitted under the Town and Country Planning Acts and/or associated Orders and Regulations having regard to statutory and Council procedures, the development plan and other non statutory policies and the need for consultation both internally and externally. Negotiations with applicants or their agents to secure compliance with the Council's policies and achieve a high standard of development.
