Trainee Quantity Surveyor required for a company based near Croydon. We are looking for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor who would be responsible for responding to and working alongside an experienced Quantity Surveyor, working with him in sourcing and obtaining best prices / value for money by way of sub contracts let and packages awarded.

Ultimately reporting to the Commercial Manager and working with the Quantity Surveyors and Company Buyer, you would be involved at the outset of projects and would have an important role. Whilst experience as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor is ideal for this role, it would be suitable for someone who is currently frustrated in their current position and wishing to take more responsibility for their actions, or a candidate wishing to make a career change, or alternatively someone who is keen to pursue a day release opportunity to gain a Quantity Surveying qualification whilst obtaining sound practical experience. You would be given every encouragement to take day release or relevant educational courses in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar.

The company are involved in a mix of social and private housing in new build and refurbishment sectors and specialise in finding and reclaiming sites, identifying the full potential, based on their size shape, accessibility and immediate surroundings, always taking into account the local planning authority's housing policy.

Their Design & Build capability embracing a wide range of types and styles of development, including luxury executive homes, affordable housing, special housing for the disabled are put together as complete site development packages with planning consent which maximises the site value and compliment the local environment.

Your working hours would be 0900 to 1730 x 5 days per week, 20 days holiday per year of which 1 week is taken at Xmas. The salary package would be £18 - 25,000 negotiable and based on experience. After a suitable qualifying period you may be entitled to a company car.
