Setting Out / Senior Engineer long run of work. Currently starting on phase one of this multi million groundworks contract as it comes out of the ground you will be in place to take on further duties and responsibilities as further phases break.

The project involves excavation, drainage and extensive temporary works. This is a commercial development and covers a large area so that you must be capable of controlling the setting out over a large area of Earthworks & Drainage.

You will have an engineering background with formal training and qualifications, with probably a minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant site experience, working for either a groundworks or civils contractor preferably demonstrating that your experience has been on projects exceeding £2 -3 million.

We are looking for an Engineer who is able to take on the responsibility and challenges that go with a busy site, and who has the initiative to think and forward plan. The duties will include setting out, drawing review and queries both informally and by way of RFI’s and CVI’s. Equipment checking and calibration verification, calling off materials and liaising with the Site Manager and foremen as to work sequencing.

Current CSCS card essential and a First Aid certificate would be advantageous, but not obligatory. The site runs on a 5 ½ day week. The option is available for either a contract or a permanent role, and the client has a large number of other schemes underway, so continuity of work is available. Applicants must have legal permission to live and work in the UK to be considered.
