Job Description
My client is looking to take someone on board to strengthen their Coastal Engineering team. Ideally you will be the holder of a relevant degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with a proven track record in the Coastal Engineering Sector. It would be preferable for you to be under training to achieve chartered status with a relevant institution or already hold chartered status. Knowledge and having practically applied that knowledge to the commercial sector in coastal and estuarine work is essential.
On a daily basis you will be involved in undertaking coastal engineering studies to support major infrastructure projects and strategic coastal studies both within the UK and overseas. This will mean you will work alongside Engineers and Environmental Scientists to progress all stages of the project from inception through to detailed design and implementation. Your daily work load will vary but can include strategic studies, outline and detailed design of various scheme types, monitoring and project implementation with knowledge of current best practice.
To be a success in this role you will need to be a proactive communicator with good verbal and written skills and a willingness to undertake short term overseas work would be advantageous.
You will take on varying degrees of responsibility for the delivery of technically accurate and reliable studies within agreed programme and budget. This role would suit someone who is keen to come on board, prove themselves and move up the career ladder!
