Job Description

RETAIL ACQUISITION SURVEYOR

Location: Central Londom

Duration: 3-6 Months

Rate: £24-30p/h

A nationwide retailer is looking for an Acquisition Surveyor who will provide commercial and professional property assistance to the Estates Manager (EM) and work alongside the Regional Estates Managers.

Accountabilities:

• New Space:
  
• Assist in identifying and acquiring new retail property
  
• Research transactions and market trends nationally.
  

  
  

• Legal:
  
• Advise on salient points relating to acquisitions, involving lawyers as appropriate.
  
• Ensure legal documentation is completed and records amended all timely and accurately.
  
• Protect the Company’s interests by ensuring all statutory and legal time limits are adhered to.
  

  
  

• Financial Control:
  
• Vigorously negotiate the most favourable terms, leasehold or freehold.
  
• Recommend settlement terms and obtain approval of the business.
  
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for rent and rates and service charges.
  
• Monitor performance against budgets and reforecast.
  

  
  

• Disposals:
  
• Assist in minimising the cost of holding poor performing and over spaced stores.
  
• Assist in maximising the proceeds and income from surplus properties sold or let.
  
• Appoint property consultants for marketing, obtain valuation & marketing advice.
  
• Ensure store closure procedure completed.
  

  
  

• Relationships:
  
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers (landlords, property consultants, lawyers), business colleagues
• in house and other retailers.
