Job Description

A well-established groundworks & civil engineering contractor, offering a range of services to the construction industry in London and the South East, including the Home Counties is currently seeking an additional Quantity Surveyor for a new build civils project near Heathrow airport. The position starts in the New Year.

New build project. This is a project with large groundworks and superstructure packages. 4 large warehouses with high quality finishes and associated hard and soft landscaping. You should be able to deal with ongoing dialogue with the client, local and statutory bodies - where relevant and sub-contractors, so you must have good oral and written communication skills. Preferably formally trained with a relevant tertiary level qualification in Quantity Surveying you will be comfortable working on site, both in the field and in the site office.

The Company’s scope of works covers these fields:
• Groundworks
• Civil engineering
• Demolition
• Remediation
• Stabilisation / Ground improvements
• Bulk earthwork
• Highway work

Current Requirement. Civils orientated Quantity Surveyor, able to run the project from initial excavation and site clearance through the construction phases to final handover. You will be expected to be fully responsible for the profitable running of this development.

Geographical area. Whilst this site is on the west of London, the company operates throughout the northern Home Counties, north and west London.

Enthusiasm and a genuine desire to progress your career with a growing company, embracing their forward looking approach to Health & Safety are required. A salary package of up to £65,000 plus production bonuses, a car and full company benefits package are offered for the right person. A driving licence is a prerequisite as the role will include head office journeys.

• Commercial Retail
• Industrial
• Public Sector / PFI

Staff Welfare. Field staff participate in an ongoing programme of training to ensure that they have the necessary skills and all are equipped with CSCS as standard and other relevant training. The company’s enviable safety record is a result of a combination of this training and their comprehensive safety policy. The Company is accredited to ISO9001 international quality standard and to ISO14001 international environmental standard. Additionally the role of Safety Consultant is undertaken by an external consultancy, working to and closely monitored against their own rigorously high standards. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
