Job Description

This council is looking for someone with Development Control experience to join the department and undertake the processing of major, minor, mixed use and listed building applications. There is also the scope to get involved with applications relating to telecommunications.
The council itself has a small team of 3 planners that are dwarfed by the Victorian building that makes up their offices. The work is very varied in description and is ideal for someone who is looking to be challenged and work in an innovative environment.

This local authority covers 20 square miles in south east Hertfordshire and lies along the Lea Valley's main roads and railways with the green belt protecting the surrounding countryside. To the west the Borough extends over well-wooded countryside and the popular Lee Valley Park marks the eastern boundary. Although urbanised with industrial and commercial activity, the whole area retains much of its rural charm and is a favoured place to live for those working in London. Communications are good with excellent road and rail links being close both to London and some of the loveliest countryside in the Home Counties;
