Job Description

A flood engineer is required to provide technical and engineering support to planning applications. A degree in civil or environmental engineering would be ideal together with some post-graduate experience in a field such as hydraulic, river or flood engineering. More general experience in water infrastructure design will also be considered such as stormwater design, drainage and urban systems.

Some knowledge of computer flood modelling would be an advantage although not essential. Strong communication skills are also important as the role will involve close liaison with other associated departments in the planning process together with developers, contractors and community groups.

You will be mainly office-based but there is also opportunity to undertake regular site visits. A UK/International driving licence is fairly essential for the job.
