Q. How long does it take to get my bank account organized?

  • You can get the setting up of your bank account moving before you leave Australia. Visa First can process this at any time - simply register to purchase an account, receive a call from a Visa First agent, get your confirmation email and then you are set! Visa First can accept applications right up until the day before you leave!
  • Once in the UK, as long as you have the appropriate supporting documents, it will take 24 hours to activate your new account.

Q. Once I arrive in the UK do I need to do anything to activate my bank account?

Yes, you simply need to take with you to the Visa First London office the following:

  • Your current passport containing your Working Visa
  • Your proof of 'home-country' residential address (e.g. Proof of your Australian address in the form of a bank statement/utility bill/drivers licence)

Q. Do I need a minimum amount of money to set up a bank account?

No, there is no minimum amount. However, we do offer a transfer facility should you wish to transfer before you leave.

Q. Can I transfer funds to my UK account prior to my departure from Australia?

Yes, we can transfer any amount for you. It will sit in a Visa First holding account and be deposited to your new account the day after you activate it. We will send you a statement as soon as you transfer the money which can be used as proof of funds for immigration purposes.
