Research Nurse

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, independent, flexible and committed Research Nurse to join the Ataxia Centre to support our ongoing research portfolio.

This is a fixed-term contract lasting 12 months, set to conclude on March 31, 2026, with funding subject to annual renewal.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail. The successful candidate will need willingness to learn and an interest in supporting a number of ongoing clinical trials/natural history studies.

The post holder will be supported by the senior clinical and research team within the ataxia service, and the role is ideal for highly motivated individuals who are keen to develop their career in Clinical Research Nursing/Clinical Trials.

The post holders will work in close collaboration with Principal Investigator and Research Support Staff, to ensure compliance with Trust Policy, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Tissue Act (HTA), and trial specific protocols.

Main duties of the job

As Research Nurse, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our clinical research commitments. You will provide specialist skills and knowledge to coordinate and manage clinical trials and be responsible to provide high-quality research.

Your main responsibility will be ensuring the recruitment of patients, completion of trial related activities and reliable data collection as per protocol requirements in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Research Governance and local Trust policies for research.

You will be required to plan and manage your own workload effectively and demonstrate effective time management and prioritisation. A proactive, flexible and solution orientated approach is essential. The ability to work autonomously but in collaboration with others is essential.
