About the Candidate

In 2008, I obtained a degree in Civil Engineering, and recently, I completed an MSC in Structural Design
and Construction Management with sustainability with professional placement at Kingston University
London. I have accumulated 14 years of experience in the construction industry, working with various
companies in Dubai, Qatar, and Pakistan. I am enthusiastic about applying my skills and expertise for the
benefit of the organization.
During my MSc studies, I completed various modules that gave me a comprehensive understanding of
Eurocodes 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. Additionally, I successfully managed several projects independently and as
part of a team. One notable project, the Kingston Mall project, involved using MS Project to plan a risk
register and deliver an executive summary for the client. I acquired the skills to design building projects
through the structure modules, encompassing foundations, piles, columns, and beams following
Eurocodes. Notably, the Tylor Art Hub project allowed for the application of concrete concepts.
Furthermore, I gained expertise in estimation, procurement, and the tendering process, culminating in
finalizing procurement routes. My knowledge was further enriched through Building Information
Modeling (BIM) exposure.
In my culminating project, I focused on optimizing bolted connections with a primary emphasis on
sustainable materials, particularly timber and Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP). Using a customized
Excel model, I assessed the load-bearing capacities of various bolted connections, adjusting parameters
such as bolt dimensions, diameter, and quantity to identify optimal configurations. While steel is a
common choice for bolted connections, issues like corrosion, along with moisture sensitivity in timber and
GFRP, create challenges that demand innovative solutions. My analysis offers well-grounded
recommendations for bolted connections, balancing durability and sustainability with practical
considerations for these alternative materials.
In my professional career, I have gained substantial experience working with various organizations as a
Civil Engineer and Structural Engineer. I have successfully managed and contributed to numerous projects,
including residential, commercial, and high-rise buildings, both as an individual contributor and as a
collaborative team member. My responsibilities have extended to both on-site and off-site activities,
where I conducted thorough inspections and site visits, culminating in comprehensive structural safety
reports. My role involved assessing and addressing structural concerns, ensuring adherence to safety and
quality standards.
Throughout my work, I have demonstrated strong coordination and communication skills, complemented
by technical expertise within my field. I proactively raised and resolved any issues related to design
discrepancies, reviewing construction drawings and verifying as-built drawings to maintain alignment with
project requirements. My commitment to precision, quality control, and effective project management
has consistently supported the success of the projects I have undertaken.
My comprehensive blend of academic qualifications, practical skills, and professional experience has
enabled me to cultivate expertise in structural design and project management. My diverse background
equips me to devise innovative solutions to intricate challenges while upholding paramount
considerations such as safety, cost-efficiency, timeliness, and resource conservation. Thriving amidst
formidable circumstances, I have consistently demonstrated adept coordination, fostering seamless
collaboration among stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and designers.
In my university experience, I served as a group leader for my final dissertation and received recognition
for the best project at the university. Additionally, I held the position of course representative at Kingston
University and was recently honored with the Best Representative Award. Throughout my academic and
practical endeavors, I have gained proficiency in various software applications such as AutoCAD,
Primavera, STAAD Pro, Revit, and RAPT.
