The Tier 5 Visa

The Tier 5 Visa (Youth Mobility Scheme) formerly the UK Holiday Work Visa can be issued to Australian, New Zealand, Canadian and Japanese Citizens aged between 18 – 30 years old, inclusive.

This visa is granted for 2 years and enables you to work and travel throughout the UK within this 2 year period. 1st Contact can assist Australian and New Zealand passport holders currently residing in Australia or New Zealand with this application.

The Ancestry Visa

The Ancestry Visa can be issued to Commonwealth Citizens aged 17 years and above who have a grandparent that was born in the UK. This multiple entry visa is granted for 5 years and enables you to work and live in the UK throughout this time.

To apply for this visa you will need to provide original birth certificates of yourself, your parent and your grandparent who hold the Ancestral link.

1st Contact can retrieve lost or destroyed birth certificates from British records as required. You will also need to show that you intend to work in the UK and can support yourself without recourse to UK public funds.

Application Process

The application process for the Tier 5 and Ancestry visa consists of 3 stages.

1. An online application requesting all of your particulars, payment to the British authority for the visa and booking a biometric appointment all take place at this time.
2. Attending a biometric appointment, digital finger prints and photographs are taken at this time.
3. Submission of the application including passport and supporting documents to the British Authority.

The service is personalised and delivered to you by your own caseworker who will complete your online application for you as well as provide you with detailed instructions on how to pay for, book and where to attend your biometric appointment.

In addition, your case worker will instruct you on what documents to arrange and, where required, will supply detailed document checklists and templates to ensure the accuracy of documents required by the British authorities.

Lastly your caseworker will complete all application forms, compile the application and submit it to the British authorities. Your visa will be processed and returned directly to you.
