Job summary

o An exciting opportunity to join the GP-led Youth Clinic in Lewisham, an innovative service which is an integrated primary care and mental health service for young people aged 13-25.o We have a vacancy for a Band 7, based in our community clinics in Lewisham and CAMHS CWP Team.

o The overall aim of the GP-led Youth Clinic is to increase access to high quality primary care and mental health services for young people in their community.

o The second part of the role is to function as a specialist in CYP-IAPT principles and practice for the recruitment to train Child Well Being Practitioners (CWPs) initiative.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the provision of assessments, formulation and evidence-based intervention for young people aged 13-18. Aiming to intervene early through evidence-based interventions and cooperation with community organisations.

You would work with mild to moderate mental health difficulties by providing emotional and practical support through a variety of approaches including evidence based therapeutic work, psychoeducation, play and/or art, psychoeducation for families. Liaising with our GPs, schools, other statutory services and voluntary sector within the community.

You will manage your caseload and provide specialist intervention to young people and families who do not meet the mainstream CAMHS threshold. You play one of the crucial roles in bridging some gap between mainstream CAMHS and CWP teams as well as clinical and community settings.

You will be taking part in triage meetings and screening referrals made by GPs, as well as supporting allocation of cases within the GP-led Clinic team. At the Lewisham CWP team as a CAMHS Specialist Practitioner, you are responsible for leading and supervising a small team of Children Wellbeing Practitioner team and trainees as well as supporting the team in triaging cases and offering support as a duty clinician.
